Our school day runs from 8:30am to 4:00pm

We offer Before School Care (8:00am – 8:30am)  and After School Care (4:00pm – 4:30pm) Programs for an additional fee.

Ivy Montessori School, while located in the bright, sunny basement of St. Matthias Anglican Church is not a religious school nor do we have a religion based curriculum.

We are a non-denominational school that acknowledges and observes many traditions, holidays and cultures. 

Ivy Montessori School is licensed by the Ministry of Education under the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014. 

Yes. We are inspected by Toronto Public Health and have to meet strict regulations in order to obtain clearance to operate. 

Our Casa Program is for children ages 2.5 – 6 years old. 

For new enrolments, we welcome children 2.5 – 3 years old. 

A child older than 4 years old may enroll if transferring from another Montessori School.

Yes. Your child must be reliably toilet trained (meaning they know when they have to go and can use the toilet un-assisted) before they can begin school. As per our Ministry License, we cannot have children in diapers or pull-ups. 

Accidents can happen and each child has an extra clothing bin at school.  Staff are always on hand to assist when needed.

We accept applications at any time. 

Children accepted into our program may begin on the first day of the Fall term in September or on the first day of the Winter term in January. 

Enrolment for Sept 2024 is now Open. Limited spaces available.

The teacher student ratio is 1:8.

With a full class of 24 students, there will be a Lead Teacher or Guide and two assistants. 

Every Montessori School and classroom will be different based on the training, experience and vision of the Directors and   the Lead Guide. 

Each Montessori Classroom should have the full set of Montessori Materials, an open feel and space for children to move freely and independently. Shelves should be child height and all lessons easily accessible. 

The Lead Guide must be Montessori Trained.

While AMI is the gold standard of Montessori Training, Guides can also hold MACTE and TMI certification.
